Useful tools when designing for Redbubble or any other Print on Demand service for Beginner Designers.

How to design for Redbubble when you are not an artist or a graphic designer?

So the dilemma was; I wanted to sell shirts at Redbubble but I am not a graphic designer and have no drawing skills to speak of.

The thing is, I am not an artist. I don't draw as a hobby.  But I do like photography and I've always loved Graphic Tees and Type tees. They are my staple wardrobe since forever.

So, you can start with that. Start with Text based designs.

I don't have Photoshop so I use Canva

Canva is Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign in one.

Canva is FREE to use. There is a paid version where more images are unlocked but, for the most part, its free.

I start and end with this web app for every design. It's great for layouting. It already has tons of fonts, images and templates to choose from. And its so easy to use.

But, what if you want more fonts and images to use for your designs that are not available in Canva? That's where Creative Fabrica comes in.

Creative Fabrica - Thousands of fonts and images you can use for any of your designs.

This is a paid service. But I think that it's worth it for the sheer amount of graphics they have. No matter what I search for, there is always graphics for it. What's best is, as a subscriber, downloading is unlimited. And you have a license to use each of these images in your designs.

No need to pay for individual artwork. you can download as many as you want for a monthly fee.

I haven't even tried the fonts yet. Right now, my subscription is for images only. And it already works for me. I just use the fonts in Canva but get my images from Creative Fabrica since the images in Canva are sometimes limited for particular subjects.

There are also freebies.  There are hundreds of free FONTS and GRAPHICS you can use for your design as well. So check those out first before deciding to subscribe.

But, there are also times when you need to edit some images you get from Canva and Creative Fabrica.

That's when I use Pixlr. It's a FREE online Photo Editor. Basically, the equivalent of Photoshop.

There are two types of interface you can use. Basic or Expert.

Canva only has cropping so I use this to delete certain elements that I want to erase from the graphics.

That's it for now.

Hope this helps other beginners as well.
